Cleaning Products That Will Make Your Life Easier

After TONS of reader questions, I’m compiling this list of cleaning products that I use and love.  Check these out and decide if any of them will help make your cleaning life easier!

These spin mops by O’Cedar have made a HUGE difference in our house.  I absolutely love that the heads are machine-washable.  Because you use a pedal on the bucket to wring out excess water, I can even mop our floors with a baby on my hip.

One of the best purchases we’ve made was buying a second vacuum for our second floor. With two kids (and one on the way) it was just too hard to carry our vacuum up and down the stairs. Consequently, whatever floor the vacuum wasn’t currently living on was getting neglected. We originally bought a stick vacuum for our top floor, but finally broke down and bought a full-sized vacuum instead.

Here are some of the best vacuums currently for sale on Amazon for under $100 with amazing reviews:

We were renting carpet cleaners from Lowe’s and Home Depot way more often than I care to admit. If you do this as well (or if you don’t but know deep down your carpet would thank you if you did) it might be worthwhile to invest in a cheap carpet scrubber instead. Ours has already paid for itself!

My next must-have are microfiber cloths.  We were spending a fortune in paper towels every month, so I decided to pick up a pack of washable microfiber cloths to use instead.  It’s been nothing short of amazing.  All I do is keep a small pop up laundry bin under my island and toss the used microfiber cloths in there.  When I have enough for a small load, I wash those (and usually my spin mop heads on the same day), then keep the microfiber cloths in a basket under my sink.

It saves us a ton of money, they clean much better than paper towels, and they’re lint-free.  Not to mention more environmentally-friendly.

The next thing you have to have on hand are the ingredients for cleaning supplies.  If you do nothing else, STOP buying all of those chemical-laden cleaners and start making your own!  Out of a few basic supplies, you can make just about every cleaning potion you’ll ever need.

Vinegar, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, dish soap, and spray bottles.  Also, optional essential oils.  Trust me when I say anything you cook up on your own will clean just about any mess you can make and it’s SO much safer and better for your family.
